We all know – like everyone, we enjoy cool initiatives, engage in various eco-friendly activities, and like to share them with you – but on this special Earth Day, this post won’t be ABOUT US… It will be about the Miyawaki Forest – have you heard of it before? We admit, we haven’t! So, in this post, we’ll give him a moment of attention.
Miyawaki Forest:
Where does the name come from? Akira Miyawaki is a Japanese botanist who proposed and planted the first forest according to his idea.
He believed that a forest would mature in 10 years thanks to its biological diversity.
His goal was to restore urban areas to nature, devastated by human activity.
In European conditions, the forest grows twice as fast and is 30 times denser.
Very popular in Asia and Africa.
The first one in Warsaw was planted in the “Burza” Action Park.
Quick recipe:
Preparation of suitable soil,
Planting properly selected plants in high density – this way, plants compete with each other for light and stimulate each other to grow faster.
We already know how to plant it, now it’s your turn.
