We all know – like everyone, we enjoy cool initiatives, engage in various eco-friendly activities, and like to share them with you – but on this special Earth Day, this post won’t be ABOUT US… It will be about the Miyawaki Forest – have you heard of it before? We admit, we haven’t! So, in this post, we’ll give him a moment of attention.
Miyawaki Forest:
- Where does the name come from? Akira Miyawaki is a Japanese botanist who proposed and planted the first forest according to his idea.
- He believed that a forest would mature in 10 years thanks to its biological diversity.
- His goal was to restore urban areas to nature, devastated by human activity.
- In European conditions, the forest grows twice as fast and is 30 times denser.
- Very popular in Asia and Africa.
- The first one in Warsaw was planted in the “Burza” Action Park.

Quick recipe:
- Preparation of suitable soil,
- Planting properly selected plants in high density – this way, plants compete with each other for light and stimulate each other to grow faster.
We already know how to plant it, now it’s your turn.
